The Changing ELL Format

ELL was conceived as a lecture series based on experiential project management experience, expertise and learning, overlaid on the appropriate scientific management principle and remains to be so today as well. We have had four ELLs by now and two ELL Repeats. The inaugural ELL was repeated as ELL 1 at Bapuji Auditorium, Davangere on 4th of Aug 2012 and ELL 3 was repeated at TA Pai Management Institute, Manipal on the 27th of Feb 2013. As ELL is a product, repeats would slowly become the order of the day, two ELL repeats on ELL 4 are in the pipeline. So ELL Repeats become one more functional area of the ELL increasing its utility and reach and makes the effort at creating the lecture worthwhile.

While discussing about the ELL story one day we tumbled upon a bright idea to have a freewheeling interaction with a target group at a time. It was named Fulfillment, Free Wheeling with Sanjay Sahay, A thought leader. The first one was with the young Asst. Profs of SSIMS&RC and was a resounding success lasting for over two hours on 6th of Nov 2012. This is the Personality Development component of ELL. The Fulfillments were held at Bellary Institute of Technology, Bellary, Pushpa Mahalingappa PU College in Davangere, one as a part of ELL 2, Dimensions at Bapuji Business Schools and recently at the Aditya Birla Public School at Harihara. The biggest attraction of Fulfillment is getting pinpointed answers on the issues intriguing the participant and that dialogue helped many facing similar issues. Dr. Shashikala is in the process of preparing the transcript of whichever Fulfillment is possible, based on the archival material available. The next Fulfillment was scheduled to be on 13th of March 2013 at AVK College for Girls, Davangere on Women Empowerment as a part of the International Women’s Day celebrations.

Dimensions is the third wing of the ELL format which we call as its Publications and includes all material both in hard and soft formats owned by ELL and would be copyrighted in that name as and when the need is felt. As of now we are concentrating on printed books and our progress has not been very satisfying. Till now we have only one publication under this banner, a small free book on Innovation, comprising of one long article and my powerpoint presentation on this subject. It has been very popular with the ELL participants. Enthused with the response, it was decided in the recent ELL Core Team meeting to publish a book on ELL at the end of the 6th edition of ELL primarily of six articles on different subjects covered by the ELL. Fulfillment and Dimensions is being ably led by Dr. Shashikala, Vice Principal, SSIMS&RC.
