The second session was held on 18th October, 2019 at Sri Kumaran Children’s Home, Mallasandra, Bangalore. The total number of children along with the faculty numbered more than 400. The children were students of classes 9th and 11th of this co-ed school from the CBSE stream and it turned out be a great learning session for the children. Shri Sanjay Sahay addressed the gathering specifically the positives of “Digital Thinking” which is in line to the new age order required for the children especially for their scholastic needs. S Kumar took the audience through the various aspects of Cybersecurity settings on their gadgets and applications to keep them safe from the various perils of the Cybered World.
Dr. Suchitra Nair took the gathering through a very highly entertaining session on gaming and social media etiquettes on language and safety as well. Dr. Gitanjali Narayanan, a clinical psychologist from NIMHANS shared the dangerous and addiction related perils of social media and the ways once can source help and support in such cases. The two hour session extended by an hour was highly interactive and the speakers were able to answer many concerns of the cybered children and faculty alike. The Principal Mrs Deepa Sridhar was extremely cooperative and expressed her need for more sessions for the remaining children from other streams as well.

The workshop on Cyber safety was an eye opener for the audience. The keynote speaker, Mr Sanjay Sahay was articulate and convincing about the perils of the virtual and the need to stay safe. Having set the stage, Dr Suchitra Nair took over and educated the students on responsible gaming and the importance of social media etiquette. Dr. Gitanjali Narayanan, a clinical psychologist from NIMHANS spoke at length about the evil of digital addiction by sharing several case studies that many students could relate to. The last speaker, S Kumar gave practical tips on how to modify the settings on gadgets and commonly used websites to prevent cyber-attack. It was a very informative and engaging session,
for teachers and students alike.
